What is a cake smash & Splash Photography session?
Hi I'm Claire from Claire Hill Photography in Wolverhampton West Midlands near Birmingham one of my specialist shoots is cake smash photo sessions. You’ve probably heard of a cake smash but do you know what it really is and what goes on in the session?
What is a cake smash & Splash Photography sesson?
The name really gives this one away, toddler a cake and let them have fun with it. some eat some, rip it apart, throw it around, make a mess, then the splash part to clean off all the cake in a nice warm bath, where you can also get some fantastic photos both areas are designed to capture the raw joy of your child, its the kind of shoot thats meant to be fun and flowing, i like to let the Birthday boy or girl decide what images we can capture.
Preparing for the session
At the time of booking there is a questionnaire for you to fill out, which will give me all the necessary information to tailor the shoot to you, like colours & themes . Everything else that's needed for the session will be provided including the cake (if there are any food allergies I will cater for them) which I use a local independent cake artist for. All you need to bring is clothing that coordinates with your chosen theme and colours.
What happens to the cake after the session?
After the Cake Smash Photo Shoot its your choice what happens with the cake, some take it home and others have it thrown, rarely is it in a great condition as you can imagine but that's what it's all about.
What happens after the session?
Two to three weeks after your cake smash and splash photography shoot you will be invited back to the studio at Perton, Wolverhampton near Birmingham to view your final gallery of beautifully hand edited images. It’s at this point you will view all of your images in a slideshow, select your Image Package and look at Wall Art options, as the goal is not only to take beautiful images but images to be proud of, and are worthy of taking pride of place on your walls.
